4 Days Tour from Tangier to Chefchaouen

Tangier is the gateway to Africa from Europe. After breakfast at your accommodation in Tangier, we'll start our journey toward Casablanca.

Our first stop will be the charming Art City of Asilah, where you'll enjoy strolling through its white-washed streets adorned with colorful murals and street art. This coastal town, rich in history and beauty, offers a peaceful and artistic atmosphere, perfect for a short break.

Afterward, we'll continue to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. Rabat is home of the country's most important landmarks, including the Royal Palace, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and Hassan Tower. During our visit, you'll explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, a picturesque fortress with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean, and wander through Rabat's Medina.

Later in the day, we'll travel to Casablanca, Morocco's modern city and economic center. Once in Casablanca, you'll check in to your hotel for an overnight stay, ready to explore more of the city the next day.

Before leaving Casablanca, you will visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the most impressive religious monuments in the world. Built to commemorate King Hassan II's 60th birthday, this magnificent mosque overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. With its 210-meter-high minaret, the tallest in the world, it is the city's major landmark. Inside, you'll be amazed by the incredible Moroccan craftsmanship, hand-carved stone and wood, elaborate marble floors, gilded cedar ceilings, and stunning zellige (mosaic tilework). Multilingual guided tours are available outside prayer times, giving visitors an insightful experience into this marvel architecture.

After the mosque visit, we'll head to Fes, passing through vast agricultural fields, toward the Roman ruins of Volubilis. This ancient city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcases beautifully preserved mosaics, temples, and arches, offering a look into Morocco's Roman past.

Our next stop will be Meknes, the second imperial city of Morocco. Here, you'll enjoy a stroll in El Hedim Square, where local artisans, performers, and vendors create a lively atmosphere. After having lunch at a traditional restaurant near the square, you'll visit the famous Bab El Mansour, one of Morocco's most iconic and grandiose gates, perfect for memorable photos.

After a short exploration of Meknes, we will continue our journey to Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco. Overnight stay at a riad or hotel in Fes.

After breakfast, you will meet our local guide in Fes for a half-day tour. Fes is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is one of the oldest imperial cities in Morocco, founded in 808 as the first political, religious, and cultural capital.

Our tour will begin at the Golden Doors of the Royal Palace. Afterward, we will head to a viewpoint where you can admire the impressive walls that surround the Old Medina (Fes El-Bali). Then, we'll continue on foot through the Medina, allowing you to immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere and experience hundreds of feelings revolted of this historic area.

As we explore, you will visit mosques, madrassas, and various religious places before reaching the district of the Tanners. Please note that lunch during your walking tour is not included in the price (lunch will be at a typical Moroccan restaurant in the old Medina). We will then continue to the artisans' neighborhood, where skilled craftsmen preserve the knowledge and techniques they brought from Spain, and kept Andalusian art and style to this day.

Next, we will depart for Chefchaouen, one of the most famous towns in Morocco. Our trip will take us through the Rif Mountains till Chefchaouen, founded in 1471 as a small fortress by Moulay Ali Ben Moussa. The town was under Spanish occupation until Morocco gained independence in 1956. Today, Chefchaouen is famously known as the "Blue City" for its charming medina, where narrow streets and houses are painted in blue and white, creating a magical and tranquil atmosphere. Overnight stay at a riad or hotel in Chefchaouen.

Today, you'll have free time to stroll through the beautiful blue-washed alleys of Chefchaouen, explore local artisan shops, and enjoy the tranquil vibe of this unique town.

Once inside the medina, a must-do activity is to walk up to "Ras El Maa Waterfall", a famous water source sitting on the top of the mountain. From here, you'll be amazed by the panoramic views of Chefchaouen.

As you make your way to Ras El Maa, you'll pass by symbolic monuments and key landmarks such as Place Outa El Hammam (the main square surrounded by cafés and restaurants, a perfect place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere), and the Kasbah, a heavily restored 18th-century fortress, has lovely gardens. In the afternoon, we will drive back to Tangier, where this 4-day tour from Tangier ends.
