7 Days Tour from Agadir to Merzouga: Discover the Desert

Upon your arrival at Agadir airport, our driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel or riad in Taroudant. Once settled, we will go for a visit to the old city and marketplace of Taroudant, also known as "little Marrakesh". Overnight accommodation at the hotel/riad.

Begin your day in Taroudant and journey toward Ouarzazate, also known as the "Sahara Gate". En route, you will pass through Taliouine, the famous region in Morocco for its saffron production, and travel through the majestic Atlas Mountains, admiring an enchanting landscape dotted with small Berber villages.

A highlight of the day is a stop at Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, the most beautiful kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. In Ouarzazate, you will also have the opportunity to visit Kasbah Taourirt and the famous Atlas Studio. Enjoy an overnight stay at your riad or hotel in Ouarzazate.

After breakfast in Ouarzazate, depart toward the Draa Valley, where you will witness one of Morocco's longest rivers. Along the way, enjoy several stops to capture photographs and take in the spectacular views of kasbahs, Berber villages, and the natural beauty of the Draa Valley.

You'll have some free time for lunch in Nkob or Alnif before continuing on a two-hour drive to the magnificent Sahara Desert—the "Desert of Golden Sand Dunes." Here, join the camel trek experience through the magical sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi, offering a panoramic view unique sunset of the Sahara.

Arrive at the desert camp feeling relaxed and inspired. Enjoy a delicious and authentic Berber (Amazigh) dinner in the heart of the desert, followed by an amazing night gathering around the fire with traditional Berber music under an endless starry sky.

Today, you'll wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise over the amazing sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. After that, enjoy a delicious breakfast in the desert camp. Once you are ready, we will go on a fascinating desert excursion exploring the surroundings of the marvel Erg Chebbi. We will drive off-road to visit nomadic families living near the sand dunes, offering you an authentic look into their way of life in the dry Sahara, accompanied by a traditional cup of mint tea.

Next, the journey continues to the M'Fis mines, located on a high plateau that provides a wonderful panoramic view of Erg Chebbi and the desert landscape. Afterward, head to Khamlia (Gnaoua) village, whose inhabitants trace their origins to Black Africa and have a long-standing relationship with the Sahara. Learn about their heritage, which dates back to ancestral caravans that traversed the desert from central and west Africa, and enjoy the traditional Gnaoua music of the village.

Finish the day with a delicious lunch, which is a Berber pizza before returning to your hotel or riad in Merzouga.

After breakfast, we will travel to the Dades Valley. Your first stop will be Rissani, where you will explore its traditional market, the largest in southern Morocco. Next, we will visit Erfoud, one of the oldest known sites, renowned for its precious and unique fossils.

The route continues to Touroug and Tinjdad, where you'll have time for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, continue toward the unique Todra Gorges, Morocco's highest and narrowest spectacular gorges; 300 meters high and at their most narrow, are merely 20 meters apart. These gorges are famous worldwide as one of the most spectacular canyons.

After a short walk among the immense cliffs and enjoying the amazing landscapes, you'll drive to the Dades Valley. There, you will end your day with an authentic dinner and an overnight stay in a riad or hotel.

Today, we will leave Dades Gorges and head toward Agadir. But before arriving in Agadir, you will explore the best parts of the Dades Valley (Dades Canyons). You will travel along the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs, a spectacular drive through desert landscapes, small villages, and palm groves between the Atlas and Anti-Atlas Mountains. This drive features many kasbahs lining the route, offering a varied and impressive view. The journey is smooth, mostly on paved roads, and provides an exciting driving experience with great views of these unique monuments to Berber art.

We will then take a break at Kalaat M'Gouna, also known as the Valley of Roses. Here, you can see rose products and learn about the annual rose festival held in May. Next, we will visit Amridil Kasbah in Skoura. After that, we continue through Ouarzazate, Taznakht, and Taliouine before finally reaching Agadir. By the evening, you will be dropped off at your accommodation in Agadir.

On this day, we will transfer you to the airport based on your flight schedule. This marks the end of our services for the 7-day tour from Agadir to Merzouga.
