Your 4 days tour from Fes to Merzouga starts as our driver picks you up from your accommodation in Fes. You'll start heading toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we pass through Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" due to its alpine-style houses with sloping roofs, distinct from traditional Moroccan architecture. Nestled at an altitude of 1,630 meters, Ifrane is surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including the Ifrane National Park. You'll traverse beautiful cedar forests, home to the Barbary Macaque monkeys. We take a short break here to observe these unique inhabitants before continuing our route.

Next, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch in the town of Midelt, known for its rich fossil heritage and distinctive rock formations. After lunch, continue your journey, crossing the Tizi N'Talghamt pass and the breathtaking Ziz Valley, famous for its hidden oases and endless palm groves. Our journey continues to Erfoud, a town famed for its annual date festival and fossil workshops, offering a glimpse into the region's rich geological history.

Finally, we arrive at the wonderful Erg Chebbi, an expansive sea of golden sand dunes, where we settle in for the night in Merzouga, ready for an unforgettable desert experience.

After breakfast, our exciting desert excursion will begin as we explore the marvel Erg Chebbi region. We will drive off-road to visit the nomadic families living around the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, giving you a chance to observe their unique lifestyle and learn how they survive in the dry Sahara Desert. We'll share a cup of mint tea with them.

Next, we will drive to the M'Fis mines, which are located on a high plateau that offers a fantastic panoramic view of Erg Chebbi and the surrounding desert landscape. After that, we will head to Khamlia Village, also known as Gnaoua Village. The inhabitants of this small village originated in Black Africa and share a long-standing relationship with the Sahara, as their ancestors were brought from Central and West Africa through caravans that traversed the desert to southeastern Morocco.

During our visit, you'll learn more about their culture and enjoy their traditional music. After immersing yourself in the sounds of Gnaoua music, it's time to have a delicious lunch which is Berber pizza.

Later in the day at Erg Chebbi, we leave the car behind to join on an unforgettable camel trek experience over the high sand dunes of the desert. Your local guides will show how to safely mount and dismount on camels, ensuring you have a comfortable and secure ride. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunset from atop a high dune before continuing to your desert camp.

After a delicious dinner at the camp, relax under the stars as you listen to Berber music played by local nomads. If you love dancing, feel free to join in and dance to the rhythms of the music. You'll be amazed by the starlit sky above you, then, before you go to your tent.

Before heading back to the meeting point, you'll rise early to experience the stunning sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy as the morning light reflects the vast sea of sand. Following this unforgettable moment, return to your desert camp for a shower and a delicious breakfast.

After breakfast, you'll ride back to the departure point either by camel or car and prepare for the next step of your desert trip. We'll leave the vast Sahara Desert behind as we travel toward the historic city of Rissani, once a major stop on the ancient Sahara caravan routes. If your visit coincides with the local market days (Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays), you'll have the opportunity to explore the largest souk in the region.

Our journey continues with a stop in Erfoud, known as the Fossil Town, before heading into the Todra Valley. As we travel, you'll pass through charming villages such as Jorf, Tinjdad, and Tinghir, eventually arriving at Todra Valley, a green oasis surrounded by mud villages and high mountains. After a 30-minute drive, we reach Todra Gorges, a dramatic, narrow passage with vertical cliffs rising 300 meters on each side, popular with climbing lovers. Overnight stay at a hotel/riad in Todra Valley.

After breakfast, we start the final day of our 4 days desert tour from Fes to Merzouga. We leave the Todra Valley and head back toward Fes, passing through Errachidia and its charming small villages. Our journey continues through the Atlas Mountains as we enjoy the landscapes of Midelt. We will pause for lunch either in Midelt or in Zaida, a small Berber village.

After lunch, we will drive through cedar forests, where you may spot wild monkeys, a perfect opportunity to capture the natural beauty of Morocco. We then continue our journey back to Fes, arriving in the evening. Our driver will ensure you are safely dropped off at your accommodation.
