The first journey of the 4-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes begins as we leave Marrakech and cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi N'Tichka pass, which stands at an altitude of 2,260 meters. Our next stop is the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, an old and fortified village known for its beautiful Kasbahs. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a perfect synthesis of the earthen architecture of the pre-Saharan regions of Morocco. It has been the backdrop for numerous famous films.

You'll have lunch in either Ait Benhaddou or Ouarzazate before continuing the journey. After lunch, we will head toward Boumalne Dades, passing through Ouarzazate which is home to several film studios and is often referred to as the "Hollywood of Africa", the Palm Grove of Skoura, and the beautiful Roses Valley. The first night of the Marrakech to Fes 4-day desert tour will be spent in Boumalne Dades, where you'll rest and prepare for the next step of this incredible desert trip.

After breakfast, the trip continues a short distance to Tinghir and the very different Todra Gorges where you can take a short walk to appreciate the steep sides of the gorge and the narrow expanse of sky above. From there, we will head to the Erg Chebbi dunes, passing through Tinjdad, the Oasis of Tafilalet near Erfoud, which is famous for its Date Festival, and Rissani, the seat of the Alaouite family, the current royal family of Morocco.

Between Tinjdad and Erfoud, you have the opportunity to visit and go down into the fascinating underground water channels deep below the earth, always cool and preventing the evaporation of this source of irrigation. In Erfoud itself, we can stop to see the workings of thousands of fossils made into all sorts of artifacts.

Lunch will be served in a Berber village along the way. Afterward, we will continue our journey till we reach Erg Chebbi, an extensive sea of sand dunes. Here, you will join the caravan of camel trek across the high sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi desert. Your local guides (camels-man) will show you how to mount and dismount and other handy camel-related safety tips.

Afterward, you will enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset from a high dune before riding the camels to your desert camp for the night. After a delicious dinner, time to listen to Berber music played by local nomads under the stars. If you love dancing, feel free to join in and dance to the rhythms of the music. Don't miss the one-of-a-kind desert sunrise the next morning.

After waking up early, you'll have the chance to enjoy the beautiful view of the sunrise, which is the amazing part of the day in the desert. Following this, you will return to the desert camp where you can take a shower and savor a delicious breakfast.

After breakfast, our exciting desert excursion will begin as we explore the marvel Erg Chebbi region. We will drive off-road to visit the nomadic families living around the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, giving you a chance to observe their unique lifestyle and learn how they survive in the dry Sahara Desert. We'll share a cup of mint tea with them.

Next, we will drive to the M'Fis mines, which are located on a high plateau that offers a fantastic panoramic view of Erg Chebbi and the surrounding desert landscape. After that, we will head to Khamlia Village, also known as Gnaoua Village. The inhabitants of this small village originated in Black Africa and share a long-standing relationship with the Sahara, as their ancestors were brought from Central and West Africa through caravans that traversed the desert to southeastern Morocco.

During our visit, you'll learn more about their culture and enjoy their traditional music. After immersing yourself in the sounds of Gnaoua music, it's time to have a delicious lunch which is Berber pizza.

Later in the day, we will return to Merzouga and drop you off at your accommodation for the night.

Today, after breakfast, we will start our journey to Fes. Our trip will take us to the Medina of Fes, with different stops along the way. We will leave the immense desert and travel toward the city of Rissani, which was once a major stopping point along the Saharan caravan route. If our visit coincides with one of the local markets that take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, we will have the opportunity to visit the souk, the largest in the region.

Later on, we will have lunch in Midelt, a town famous for its minerals and apples. As we drive through the stunning Ziz Valley, you can enjoy panoramic views to the north. Midelt is overshadowed by Jbel Ayachi, which rises to 3,757 meters and is situated at an altitude of 1,488 meters.

Next, we will continue our journey to Michlifan to see the Barbary macaques and the beautiful cedar forest. In the late evening, we will reach the city of Fes by crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our driver will ensure that you arrive safely at your chosen accommodation, where the tour will conclude.
